Eric Israel was born in Boston Massachusetts and raised just outside Washington D.C. in Maryland. He attended the University of Miami before coming back to Maryland to start a 15 year career in the Automotive industry. In early 1995, Eric decided to leave the east coast and the Automotive industry and head out to explore the west. A year later he landed in Colorado where he opened and operated a very successful blues and jazz club named The Abstract Caffe for 4 years. After the birth of his first son, Eric decided to sell the business and move his family to Southern California where he would become involved in the real estate industry. He studied for and received his California Real Estate license in late 2003 and went to work for Zip Realty. While there, Eric realized that one day, he would want to be involved in a real estate business utilizing the advantages of the internet as its central hub. Eric sampled various big box brokerages for the next 5 years specializing in ocean view homes and when the market dictated, REO and short sale homes. It was in mid 2009 while working for a small independent company of about 25-30 agents that Eric realized there was a need and a market for hard working independent-minded agents like himself who wanted to keep more of their hard earned commissions. It was with this small company that Eric began implementing his ideas for a “Virtual” brokerage with a unique “Backoffice” concept that gave agents more value and tools than anyone else. After testing the “Formula” in growing this small company for a year and seeing the advantages of his “Virtual” concept come to reality and succeed, Eric decided he needed to form his own company rather than work for anyone else and so The Virtual Realty Group was officially launched in 2010. Currently, The Virtual Realty Group operates in 28 states from coast to coast with more states coming soon. Eric currently resides in Southern California with his lovely wife and 2 young sons.
